We leave Granada for Hotel Punta Teonaste, on the Pacific coast of Nicaragua. A moderate distance from Granada, we get on the paved Pan American Highway. A short time later, it is on local gravel roads for a distance of probably 40 miles. Horse back riders, motorcycles, trucks, and pigs share the right of way. Dusty. The random Coca-Cola sign. We stop to look at a well dug by funds from Living Water, a Christian charity to which our son's family has contributed. And a tree full of howler monkeys......
We arrive. The resort is a beautiful oasis. A lovely pool with the ocean in the background.
We are the only 4 people at the resort, and each couple gets a lovely grass-roofed hut. The toilet is outside and open to the sky though enclosed and few drones in sight.....
The ocean is amazing: A constant brisk wind whips spray northward from the breakers. John and Carolyn ride in with the waves.
The sunset is amazing: Beautiful colors, waves and spray lit by the setting sun....
A coconut/pineapple drink with dinner, plenty of time for conversation as night falls. To the right is the pattern in the sand created by water and waves.
Another dusty trip, then Granada....
